We surfed a long wave to answer this question. You may think this is too abstract and it doesn't say much. Too open and it is hard to design. Too airy and it is impossible to hold on to. As an insider of businesses we learned it as a fertile soil for creating ideas and transforming it alive.
The business space itself is a collection of a lot of things. People, power, machines, intelligence, technology created by one business pioneer that sets it in a structure of organised social and economic activities.
By "things" we mean the technology driven realisation. It may be known as activities, processes, programs, initiatives, procedures, systems, memorandums, letters, machines, working lessons, book of instructions, scorecards, old fashion departments and job descriptions, ways of work, competence maps and skill levels, functional and organisational structures, tutorials of how it works, learning sessions, exquisite meetings, prodigious teams of work, things that are property of this space and that cause impact outboards - specially in the business pioneers.
Being part gives you inspiration to create your own things, collaborate with someone else's creation, and sometimes being surprised by creations of others that you are asked to make it real, and then you are pushed to the journey where "forced co-creation" happens.
In either situation, we are challenged to encompass limits of the known. We may be ready to venture under uncertainty to face the unknown. We may find a light where things are bright and dark. When we feel this need, we silently are committing to create the things we wish existed.
